Who We Are

The National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) is an independent, nongovernmental, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to protect the public by providing the means to assess competencies for osteopathic medicine and related health care professions.

Since our founding in 1934, we have been recognized for excellence in the national and international arenas of osteopathic physician testing and evaluation. We produce a number of osteopathically distinct examinations:
As a trusted partner in assessment, the NBOME Learning Center collaborates with colleges of osteopathic medicine and osteopathic specialty boards to provide online learning and continuous professional development resources for practicing physicians and medical educators to demonstrate lifelong learning and meet quality measures, including: We also participate in assessments for professional clients and partners, such as the American Podiatric Medical Licensing Examination (APMLE) Part II Clinical Skills Patient Encounter (Part II CSPE), which is administered at our Philadelphia National Center for Clinical Skills Testing (NCCST) location.
