Registration

An applicant must contact the state board directly to obtain approval before beginning the application process.

Once approved by a state board, an candidate is to register and schedule the COMVEX examination by downloading and completing a COMVEX Application Form.

Applications should be submitted with payment of $750 to the NBOME. Once received, the NBOME will contact the candidate within 10 business days of receipt to schedule an exam appointment.

Scheduling

Pearson VUE locations, test dates, and seat availability can be viewed after registering for the examination.

The candidate should schedule the exam at least 90 days before the desired test date to ensure test center location and seat availability. The candidate will receive a confirmation page via email with a confirmation number. This confirmation number allows the candidate to confirm or reschedule their examination on the Pearson VUE website.

A candidate will not be permitted to schedule or reschedule a COMVEX examination within five days before a test date. For those needing to retake a test, a COMVEX examination will not be administered to the same candidate more than once within any 90-day period.
