Deborah L. Pierce, DO, MS, was recognized for completing 12 years of service on
the NBOME’s Board of Directors, having devoted many hours of service to the
NBOME since 1995. She has served as an item writer for the COMLEX-USA Level
2-CE, on COMLEX-USA Level 2-CE Item and Test Review Committees, as vice
coordinator and coordinator for COMLEX-USA Level 2-CE, and as chair of the
COMLEX-USA Composite Committee. She also served on the NBOME Executive
Committee, Nominating Committee and Innovations in Testing Advisory Committee
and co-authored a publication on the correlation of performance on COMLEX-USA
examinations with that of emergency medicine in-training residency exams.
Dr. Pierce is program director of medical education for the Emergency Medicine
Residency Program at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, as well as
associate director of the Emergency Department at Einstein at Elkins Park Hospital.

Roberta T. Wattleworth, DO, MHA, MPH, a member of the NBOME Board since
2011, was honored with the Outstanding Service Award for her many years of service
on the Board, as well as in numerous other key test development roles. Dr. Wattleworth
has been active with the NBOME since 2001, including as a member of the Clinical
Decision-Making Task Force and the Advanced Items Committee. She also served
as coordinator for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and coordinator for the
COMLEX-USA Level 3 examination. Trained as an anesthesiologist, Dr. Wattleworth
is a board certified specialist in family medicine, a fellow with the American College
of Osteopathic Family Medicine and the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical
Educators. She also served as chairperson and professor at Des Moines University’s
College of Osteopathic Medicine Department of Family Medicine.

Board of Directors in December 2016 by Gary L. Slick, DO, MA,
Osteopathic Medicine in Virginia to join the NBOME full time last July as the first chief
