ADVOCACY MANAGER

The National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional with experience in policy, promotional and advocacy work to play a critical role in maintaining and furthering relationships with other organizations. This position will rely on strong communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders, and will bring an enthusiastic commitment to advocating for osteopathic candidates and their distinct credentials.


LOCATION: CONSHOHOCKEN OFFICE DEPARTMENT: EXEC. - STRATEGY & QUALITY INITIATIVES

Responsibilities:


  • Develop, implement, and monitor NBOME advocacy priorities in the Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) and Graduate Medical Education (GME) arena and execute assigned objectives aligned with the NBOME strategic vision

  • Develop and implement outreach campaign plans to achieve NBOME’s goals and objectives in the UME and GME environments

  • Use insights into the environment across the spectrum of the house of medicine to inform NBOME’s advocacy targets and actions

  • Publish and disseminate advocacy updates and reports for both internal and external audiences, such as op-eds, briefs, website editorial, memos, etc.

  • Plan, design and implement communications and outreach for public awareness on advocacy initiatives

  • Conduct research and analysis to increase understanding of the osteopathic assessment in UME and GME

  • Build key relationships with partner organizations, external and internal stakeholders to develop collaborative projects to support advocacy efforts

  • Track and report on advocacy progress, developing key metrics to show progress

  • Attend NBOME meetings and conferences as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in related field preferred

  • Experience in, and understanding of, the graduate medical education (GME) system

  • Experience with grassroots or member-led advocacy

  • Excellent written, verbal communication, research and public speaking skills

  • Able to work efficiently independently and collaboratively


POSITION STATUS: FULL-TIME REGULAR EXEMPT
