The National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the NBOME’s technology department for server administration, network configuration, Storage-Backup, application support, SharePoint infrastructure, website infrastructure, and meeting the technology needs of the organization in a proactive manner.  A successful NBOME Systems Engineer will be highly skilled in Network/Infrastructure, Dell-EMC, VMWare, MS 365, IT Security, Linux, and also be comfortable with learning custom applications; this position requires versatility.

LOCATION: CONSHOHOCKEN                                             DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION & TECHNOLOGY

Responsibilities

·         Maintain, troubleshoot, and respond to system issues for configuration management, networks, servers, and web site infrastructure maintenance.

·         Maintain server hardware and OS (Primarily Dell/Windows, Linux a plus), networking hardware (HP –SonicWall, Routers/Switches)

·         VMware & Citrix virtual environment

·         Work with vendors to resolve issues on supported systems in the testing center

·         Configuration management for mission critical systems that are developed in-house

·         Configure, monitor, and maintain wide and local area networks, including VLAN configurations

·         Manage Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint infrastructure and NEC/Sphere VoIP system and user accounts

·         Support end-users in all technology needs, including recommending preferred or best-practice solutions.  Maintain functional, redundant datacenter

·         Evaluate current systems and recommend proactive solutions for networking and equipment

·         Manage, monitor and maintain datacenter power, cooling and availability

·         Desktop support – as needed

·         Maintain adequate recovery (backup) operations for all systems

·         Disaster recovery operations (VMware Site Recovery Manager)

·         Oversee and maintain storage and backup systems (EMC VNX-RPA, Equilogix, LTO5)

·         Other duties as requested by supervisor or senior leadership staff

·         Occasionally be available off-hours for emergency support or scheduled off-hours systems changes

 

Qualifications include:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field required

·         5-9 years working in systems administration, systems engineering, network administration and desktop support

·         Knowledge of WAN/LAN architectures

·         Strong understanding of switching principles & protocols

·         MCSA/E, certification or equivalent experience desired; CCNA/P, a plus

·         Organized, versatile, self-starting, with the ability to communicate well with individuals and teams at all levels of the business
