Job Title: Standardized Patient (SP)
Salary: $18-$20/hour

Description
Standardized Patients (SPs) are carefully trained to portray a patient during a mock doctor-patient encounter as part of a high-stakes clinical skills examination for osteopathic medical students. SPs are responsible for documenting the events in the encounter.
Things you should know about being an SP
- Excellent recall and memory skills are a must.
- Acting background may be helpful but is not necessary.
- Hours are flexible for this part-time position.
- Weekday AM and PM shifts are available, plus some Saturdays.
- Lunch is provided during the examination session.
- No invasive procedures will be performed or experimental medications given.
- The NBOME's National Center for Clinical Skills Testing is located in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania and is accessible by SEPTA's regional rail line. Free onsite parking is also available.
- SPs are eligible for annual merit-based salary increases, plus benefits after requisite period.
SPs work at the NBOME's National Center for Clinical Skills Testing (NCCST) in Conshohocken, PA, supporting administration of the COMLEX-USA Level 2-Performance Evaluation (PE), the clinical skills component of the COMLEX-USA examination series.
The COMLEX-USA Level 2-PE is a valid, reliable, defensible and osteopathically distinct examination. Every osteopathic medical student in the United States must take this and the other examinations in the COMLEX-USA series in order to become a licensed osteopathic physician.
SPs are hired on an as-needed basis. Qualified applicants are invited to attend a recruitment session to learn more about the logistics and expectations of the position. All applications are kept in our system for one year. No phone calls please.
